EOLR Setting-up Procedure

A)  Trip Light Setting – Motor Running

1)  Ensure SW2 is in the “ON” position (+0%)

2)  Turn setting knob to maximum (100%)

3)  Set response timer to maximum. After waiting 15 seconds with the motor running at an acceptable load, turn the knob “SLOWLY” anti-clockwise until trip LED illuminates. After the response time, the motor will trip. Shift SW2 to left “OFF” (plus 15%). The unit is now set! Adjust response time to suit.

4)  For manual reset, ensure terminals 8+9 are bridged or fitted with a remote reset button. For auto reset, leave 8+9 open and set reset timing on SW1 to 8 minutes. The unit will not reset until the timing LED is off and the green “ON” LED illuminates.

5)  IMPORTANT: this unit is powered by all 3 phases. When working on the base, isolate the complete panel.

B)    Motor Data plate setting – Motor not running

(Full Load Amps / C.T. Primary Amps) X 100

   = Overload Setting + 0% (SW2 “ON”)

To add 15% move SW2 to left (OFF)

Example: (using 200/5 C.T.)

(150 amps F.L.C. / 200 amps) X 100

             = 75% of 200

             = 150 amps + 0%     (SW2 to right – “ON”)

             = Overload Setting

             =150+15%                                (SW2 to left – “OFF”)

             =172 amps

Description of Controls

Switch 1 (SW1)

-  Two position switch

-  “ON/RIGHT”     Cooling down time is 1 minute.

-  “OFF/LEFT”      Cooling down time is 8 minutes.

Switch 2 (SW2)

-  Two position switch for 15% overload setting.

-  “RIGHT”            100% current.

-  “LEFT”               plus 15% (115%) current

Switch 3 (SW3)

-  Knurled Knob

-  For current setting in percentage of the current transformer primary current.

Switch 4 (SW4)

-  Reset Knob

-  For local manual resetting

Switch 5 (SW5)

-  Response Timer

-  0 – 7.5 seconds overload tripping time.

3 LED Lights

-  Top RED

-  Middle RED

-  Bottom GREEN

Trip indication

Reset timing in operation. While burning, resetting is not possible.

Indicates relay has been activated. Contacts 1+3 have closed.

IMPORTANT

In the unlikely event of the EOLR being removed and the current transformers sense a load, the C.T. secondary terminals should be bridged out. These bridges MUST be removed when the “EOLR” is re-installed.

Current Transformer Selection

Multiply Full Load Current by 1.5 and select current transformer next size up.

Example:

63 amp Full Load Current

63 X 1.5 = 94.5 amps

Select 100/5 C.T.

The above is a rough guide. Ideally the Full Load Current should fall between 45% and 75% of the C.T. Primary Current.
